How to Approach & Understand the Quran

Many of the Companions would say that if a person wants to know about his relationship with Allah then he should look at his relationship with the Qur’aan. Many Muslims are eager to bridge the gap between themselves and the Quran but unfortunately many of us do not take the correct approach in doing so.

This course will go through the nature of the Qur’aan and the reality of the Muslims responsibility toward it. Students will also learn the effect that the Quran had upon the first generation of Muslims and why it had that effect on them but not on us today. Most importantly, this course aims to provide students with the necessary tools to approach and understand the Qur’aan in the correct manner so that it may have the desired effect on our lives. This course aims to focus the mind so that we may contemplate on the Qur’aan with the right objectives in mind, hence attaining maximum benefit from both recitation and contemplation.

This course is based on Jamal Al Din Zarabozo’s ‘How to Approach and Understand the Qur’aan’.

During this course you will learn:
– What is the Qur’aan?
– What are some other names for the Qur’aan and their significance?
– What is our obligation towards the Qur’aan?
– What are the signs of loving the Qur’aan?
– Are we rewarded for just listening to the recitation of the Qur’aan?
– What impact did the Qur’aan have on the early generations?
– Why can’t we see this impact on us today?
– Was the Prophet sall Allahu ‘alaihi wa sallam the key to Qur’aan having this impact?
– What are the major goals of the Qur’aan?
